Sudhir Chaudhary is an Indian Journalist, News Anchor and Editor. He is one of the most popular Hindi TV journalists of India. He worked as the Editor-in-Chief of Hindi News channel Zee News and Business channel Zee Business for long time. Currently, he works with Hindi news channel AajTak.
Personal Life :
Sudhir Chaudhary was born on 7 June 1974. However, his exact date of birth is not known (Some Website Claims, he was born on 18 June). He was born in a middle class family. He completed his graduation in Bachelor of Arts from Delhi University and he later enrolled in Institute of Mass Communication, Delhi. He received his Diploma in Journalism before he started his career. He is said to be married to Niti Chaudhary and is blessed with a son, who lives with them. Career :
Sudhir Chaudhary began his career with Zee News in 1993 when the channel was just established. Belonging to the first generation of television journalists, he was in live television reporting and then 24 hours news television.
At the time in Zee News, he has aired a couple of trendy events such as the Kargil War and the 2001 Indian Parliament attack. He was told to have been in the squad which has covered the Vajpayee Musharraf Indo-Pak meeting at Islamabad.
In 2003, he left Zee News and involved in the opening of Sahara Samay, the Hindi news channel of the Sahara group. He also joined India TV for a brief time. Next he joined Live India as Chief Executive Officer and editor-in-chief. In 2007, Chaudhary also became CEO and editor-in-chief of Mi Marathi.
In 2012 he rejoined Zee News, where he hosts the news show Daily News & Analysis (DNA). In April 2017, he was chosen as the editor-in-chief of English news channel World is One News, and business channel Zee Business by Zee Media Corporation Limited. Controversy :
In November 2012, Chaudhary was arrested, alongside his colleague, Sameer Ahluwalia on a complaint, filed by Congress MP and businessman, Naveen Jindal. Jindal had alleged that the two journalists had tried to extort 100 Crore worth of advertisements from his company in exchange for dropping stories that linked the Jindal Group with the Coalgate scam. The two were sent to 14-day judicial custody in Tihad jail in congress government and were ultimately released on bail. In July 2018, the Jindal Group wrote to the investigating agencies requesting them to withdraw the allegations against the journalists and file a closure report in the case.
