Chitra Tripathi was born on 11 May 1986 in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. She belongs to a middle class Hindu Brahmin family. She did her Schooling from AD Govt Girls Inter College and went to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University to pursue her Post Graduation in Defence Studies. Her younger sister Sweta Tripathi is also a news anchor like her, who is currently working with Republic India. She got married to her longtime boyfriend Atul Agarwal, a News Anchor, on 23 Nov 2008. Career :
During studies, Chitra Tripathi didn’t aspire to be a journalist. She wanted to join the Indian Defense. In childhood, she achieved the gold medal in NCC cadet and she has also participated in the parade on Rajpath on Republic Day. However she started her career as a journalist with doordarshan centre in Gorakhpur, and got interested in this field. In order to pursue it as a career, she went to Delhi and looked for some good opportunities in Hindi Television news. She worked with Sahara Samay, ETV and News 24.
Chitra Tripathi, then moved to India News as an associate Editor and Prime Time Anchor. She hosted the flagship show of the channel titled ‘Betiyan’. In 2016 She joined ABP News and earned wide recognition by hosting shows like 2019 Kaun Jeetega, Kaun Banega Mukhyamantri, Modi Ke 4 Saal, Bihar Ka Neta Kaisa Ho, and the weekly show Press Conference. Controversy :
In 2016, Chitra Tripathi Registered a Complaint against her husband for domestic violence at the sector 24 police station in noida. However the issue was later resolved by the couple.
